i2 Art Gallery invites you to travel from Native America to South Africa with two very different local ceramic artists – Lola Swain and Juliet A Gorman.  Brought together with other artists to create a bold exhibition of art that has a tribal ‘flavour’ or source of inspiration.

Lola Swain - Self-taught maker of hand-built coil pots, Lola decorates her work in geometric patterns evocative of Native American art.

Juliet A Gorman – Juliet’s African roots inform her smoke-fired figures, animals and tile landscapes.

Also included are:
Victoria Burgess – Striking paintings by Debden based abstract artist Victoria, who lived and studied in South Africa for a number of years.

Sarah Turpin – Prints and paintings inspired by a Shamanic world view, featuring the local pargetting patterns which Sarah describes as our own ‘tribal’ ancestry.
 
Graham Spencer - Sculptures by Cambridge-based multi-media artist Graham.
